Dive One

Site: Palancar Pinnacles
Max Depth: 80 feet
Dive Time: 50 minutes
Key Animals: Green turtle, Hawksbill turtle, Permit
Visibility: 100+ feet
Notes:  The current was not moving much. It was a bit rainy at the surface but underwater was just perfect. This green turtle is friendly, it approached Joe and stayed there for a few minutes It is good for the pictures, right after, Mike spotted another turtle. This one was a Hawksbill. This one was eating from the bottom so it allowed us to take a few more pictures. Then a big permit swimming in circles, probably trying to find food. It had a bite taken from it’s rear fin and on top of his body. Glad he made it!

Dive Two

Site: Casa Blanca
Max Depth: 55 feet
Dive Time: 50 minutes
Key Animals: Splendid Toadfish, many lobsters
Visibility: 100+ feet
Notes:  We tried to find the octopus and the cove was empty. Ale just shrinked her shoulders in sadness. We were close to the bottom and we found a toadfish instead, then another one and another one, total of 6! The current helped a lot since it was really slow. Joe was happy to find so many toad fish and Mike looking for more he found a hole with several lobsters, view is cool! Normally there is a shark swimming in this area but today no luck, we will see tomorrow…

Scarus guacamaia, but more commonly know by the name of Rainbow Parrotfish. This is one of the larger parrots of the Caribbean.
