Dive One

Site: Colombia
Max Depth: 92 feet
Dive Time: 52 minutes
Key Animals: Ornate Elyscia, Lined Sole
Visibility: 100+ feet
Notes:  After Ray had spotted a tiny frogfish the day before I just had to return to the same spot with my camera and see if we couldn’t spot it again. Alas, we didn’t but the group of divers we had did find some really neat macro creatures including my first ever Lined Sole and a beautiful Ornate Elyscia.

Dive Two

Site: Casa Blanca
Max Depth: 55 feet
Dive Time: 59 minutes
Key Animals: Octopus with eggs, Squid, Shark, several Hawksbill turtles
Visibility: 60 – 100+ feet
Notes:  We couldn’t resist for a return trip to the mother octopus with eggs. Last time there Cameron had a memory card error on his camera so he struck out on photos. He made up for it this time. We spent another 20 or so minutes with the octopus before moving on. The dive finished up quite lively with a good number of interesting animals all around us.

Achirus lineatus, the Lined sole, is a rare treat to find in the sands of Cozumel. This one measures less than 1 inch long.
